Our homies at IndigeSTEAM are taking over Crafty Monday to host a ReconciliAction Tipi night! Come learn, make paint, and use it on a tipi!

Join us this Monday, September 30, to make ReconciliAction Tipis, hosted by our homies at IndigeSTEAM!

For this Crafty Monday, participants will join a Sharing Circle to learn teachings on Indigenous culture, history, and healing. Using this knowledge, you'll create your own paint made from plant pigments and decorate a tipi with designs inspired by Indigenous culture or STEM/STEAM themes! These tipis will then be joined together to create the liner canvas of a classroom-sized tipi, contributing to and expanding IndigeSTEAM's ReconciliAction Art Project started in 2022! While your painted tipis will be part of this larger art project, you'll get to bring home the paint you made, and valuable lessons you learnt!

Proceeds from this Crafty Monday go to IndigeSTEAM and their mission to provide and supply Indigenous-led and culturally-relevant programming in STEM/STEAM to support a better future for Indigenous youth in STEM. They do this with spaces that are ethical and respect Indigenous culture and Ways of Knowing. They bring in Indigenous STEM role models and train non-Indigenous and Indigenous STEM professionals how best to work with Indigenous youth and youth in general. They also provide the Indigenous STEM professionals with networking and support that recognizes their need to walk in two worlds.

What are Crafty Mondays? What are Crafty Mondays? On (most) Mondays our taproom hosts a crafty activity, which includes all supplies needed!
